Isaya Michael Mtambo, widely known as Chino “Wanaman” Kidd, has once again amazed his fans by releasing his much-anticipated debut extended playlist (EP) titled “Sumu” on December 27, 2024. The release coincides with preparations for his grand “Chino-Homecoming” Concert, set to take place on December 28, 2024, at Uwanja wa Taifa (CCM Tangani) in Ifakara, Morogoro.
“Sumu” features seven tracks and two bonus songs, showcasing Chino Kidd’s ability to collaborate with East Africa’s finest artists. The EP includes contributions from stars like Nadia Mukami, S2Kizzy, Mbosso, Darassa, Yammi, Redsan, Christian Bella, Masauti, Sean Mmg, Zzero Sufuri, and Treyzah, among others. This impressive lineup highlights Chino’s rising influence in the music industry and his knack for bringing together diverse talents.

Humble Beginnings
Born and raised in Ifakara, Morogoro, in eastern Tanzania, Chino Kidd’s journey is a testament to resilience and determination. From a young age, he displayed a passion for dance and music, which eventually led him to move to Dar es Salaam in pursuit of his dreams.
In Dar es Salaam, Chino began his career as a choreographer, working with prominent Tanzanian artists. His first major break came as a choreographer for Rich Mavoko, one of the country’s leading musicians at the time. By 2019, Chino had secured a role as the official choreographer for Marioo, further establishing himself in the entertainment industry.
A Leap into Music
Though he excelled as a choreographer, Chino Kidd felt a calling to explore his musical talent. In 2022, he made his debut with the single “Sina Msosi,” followed by the hit “Zuma,” which gained significant attention across airwaves. These early successes set the stage for his transition from dance to music.
